Lois Millard (Fredregill-Knowles) of Urbandale, and Doris Millard (Lewis) of New Haven, CT, are celebrating their 80th birthday on April 2nd. Born in Des Moines in 1927 to Fred and Emma Millard, Lois and Doris grew up with 8 siblings. They sang together on the Charlie Flagners Amateur Hour on KRNT Radio. Following their graduation from East High School in 1945, Lois and Doris went to work at the Ankeny Arsenal. Lois also worked at the War Bond Board for Karl Ramsey of Ramsey Pontiac. After the war, Lois and Doris worked for Armstrong Tire and Rubber. While at Armstrong their picture was used for a local ad to sell Armstrong Tires. Doris and her family moved to New Haven, CT in 1967.
