Highlighting Members from Area 11A

Congratulations to Reka Hinshaw – Outstanding Business Educator - Secondary Level (7-12)
Congratulations to Reka Hinshaw from Ankeny High School for receiving the Iowa Business Education Association - Outstanding Secondary Business Educator award! She was honored at the evening banquet during the Iowa Business Education Association fall convention on October 12. Reka earned her MA – Business and Education from Drake University and her BA from University of Northern Iowa. During her 25 years of teaching, her classroom experiences range from typewriters to Apple IIE computers to teaching Web site design. Reka is a member of several professional organizations and is a volunteer in her community.

Congratulations to Area 11A Iowa BEST Recipients
Iowa BEST award is designed to recognize educators who are active in their community and in their profession. Business teachers document their participation in four areas during the academic year. They verify they Belonged to organizations and took on leadership roles, they Excelled by presenting information or publishing articles, they Studied in order to be more informed, and they Traveled so they experienced new trends and current practices.

Of this year’s twenty-three Iowa Best recipients, three are from Area 11A. Congratulations to our 2006-2007 Iowa BEST Area 11A recipients!
