Warm the hands and hearts of those less fortunate this winter by placing new mittens and gloves on the Mitten Tree at the Urbandale Public Library, 3520 86th Street. Members of the Des Moines Knitting Guild have already donated a number of colorful hand-knit mittens to the cause. Beginning November 27 thru December 22, Urbandale residents are invited to help the Knitting Guild members decorate, by placing purchased or hand-knit mittens and gloves on the tree. All sizes and types of mittens and gloves are needed. Donations will be distributed to individuals and families in need through the Urbandale Caring Corp.
